Fall is here is the PNW, and I have a little bit of time on my hands, so it's time to brew a porter. I've been to a few grocery stores recently and the selections have been pitiful for dark beers. Plain and simple. It's an IPA wonderland out there.
For this upcoming porter, I'll be using my previous porter recipe, but with a little more emphasis on bringing out the coffee/chocolate malt flavors. No actual coffee or chocolate planned to be used, but I may throw in some lactose at the end to smooth things out. Fermentation will be handled by Imperials Darkness strain. Probably the last run for this one as this will be round 3 and the next beer I'd like to do needs a more generic ale type strain.
Stay tuned for actual results and photos either tomorrow or Saturday!
